OUR STORY
RIB Lofoten was founded in 2008 by Roar and Hans Egil to offer RIB trips and charter trips all over Lofoten and Nordland.
Tourism in Lofoten has grown steadily in recent years and now accounts for more than 1 million visits each year.
We were one of the first suppliers here in Svolvær to start moving people around with our boats and we are among the leading RIB companies in the region.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
We always focus on you being satisfied, so every trip with us is unique and customized.
Of course, it is not always possible to adapt it 100% to each person on board, but we always try to hear our customers in order to be able to deliver a product that matches most of their needs and wishes.
So don't be afraid: we neither want to bore you with too much information that will only overwhelm you and ruin your experience, nor drive at full speed all the time and let you miss all the amazing sceneries the place has to offer.
We always try to keep a balance between sightseeing, knowledge and excitement because we believe that a balanced combination of these three elements is what will give you the best entertainment.
We also care about the environment, which is why we have installed new low-emission engines on all our boats and two of our engines even have a filter that collects microplastics from the sea.
Our petrol engines use much less fuel per person and pollute far less than the diesel engines used by large ships.
OUR PRODUCT
We believe we offer the best product on the market at the moment and we were very proud when the Hurtigruten Group chose us to represent them as their official supplier in both Lofoten and Vesterålen.
This means that every time they have a ship in the port, all our boats are at their disposal.
We feel very lucky here in Lofoten because the amazing nature and wildlife almost creates our product by itself, but we complement it with educational and fun information that will keep you entertained for the whole duration of the trip.
Thanks to the small size of our boats, you will be able to enjoy up close the great wildlife the region has to offer.
We can practically guarantee sea eagles, but otters, seals, puffins, porpoises, orcas and whales are also a possibility. However, we cannot promise that, as it also depends on the season.
And thanks to the speed of our boats, we are able to cover a much larger area in the same amount of time compared to a regular larger ship, so you'll get to experience a lot more for the same price too.
OUR BOATS
Our fleet consists of 3 modern RIB boats and we move between 2,500 and 3,500 people each year, both in summer and winter, unlike most other suppliers who only work in the summer.
All our RIBs are equipped with 2 powerful 300 hp Suzuki engines (for a total of 600 hp) which make our boats both fast and reliable, but of course we adjust the speed according to weather conditions and wave height. Our aim is to give everyone a comfortable ride in all weathers.
Each boat can take on board a total of 12 passengers and 1 driver.
